There are amazing restaurants and drinking holes all over Portland. You can’t really go wrong. Consult this list if you’re looking for a place to eat or just enjoy a drink. Everything is casual, easygoing and delicious. Or just text / call us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Portland is divided into four main quadrants. Burnside divides north/south, while the Willamette River divides east/west.
How to figure out what quadrant you are in: Look for any street sign and pay attention to whatever is at the front. SE 5th Avenue? You’re in Southeast. NE Mississippi? You’re in Northeast.

Low-key brewery with a limited menu.
Very authentic German restaurant with amazing Bier in proper glasses. Kid friendly!
Sister pub of Stammtisch. Fresh brews with bar food like Curry Wurst, etc.
Great pizza joint in Mississippi neighborhood. Try the stinging nettle pizza. Seriously.
Authentic Cuban restaurant right around the corner from our wedding reception.
Mexican street cart turned restaurant with delicious salad bowls and Tortas.
Excellent “Indian Street Food” with a range of delicious stuff. Kid friendly. There’s also a SE location on Division.
Vegan joint with good cocktails and good food.
More mellow offshoot of the famous Pok Pok. Authentic northern Thai food.
Yummy soup dumplings. Kid friendly.
Southern style small plates. Good happy hour.
Great cocktails, solid food in Mississippi. Princess Bride themed menu.
Funky brewery in a basement. Great Belgian style brews. Open Thursday-Sunday.
Southeast
Great place for Happy Hour / Views of the city
Casual Spanish joint with solid tapas and outdoor patio
Possibly our favorite restaurant. Unreal Russian food. Get the Herring in a Fur Blanket. Seriously.
VERY popular thin crust / woodfire pizza joint. And with good reason. The pizza funghi is unreal.
Authentic ramen out of Tokyo.
Tusk
Possibly the best brunch in town. Middle eastern inspired. Great dinners, as well. Kind of a hipster joint, but not to worry if you don’t have any tattoos.
Northwest
Fantastic rooftop patio. Kid friendly.
Fancy Peruvian restaurant. One of the most popular places in town.
If you crave some pommes frites and Belgian brews, this is your place.
Mediterranean Exploration Company
Small plates with delicious food. Can’t go wrong.
Local bar with solid food and drink. Kid friendly in the day.
Fancy meats and charcuterie. Various locations around.
Famous happy hour here with great cocktails.
Southwest
One of the best beer bars in town.
South American cuisine. Go for happy hour or sit at the bar. There’s an octopus tank!
Fantastic Bun Mi (sandwiches) and vermicelli bowls. Kid friendly.
Great Pho and indoor/outdoor seating. Kid friendly.
